Fancy Friday: Breath of Spring

Fancy Friday:
Breath of Spring

Hey guys! Its fancy Friday! What did you wear?

I know you guys are all probably mad at me because I haven't exactly been posting as much as I should have been but all of a sudden a lot happened at once very unexpectedly and I was not prepared for it but I am back I have got a ton of spring inspiration for DIY'S and I am super excited for Easter.

Yes I am wearing pink cowboy boots with this outfit and no I am not ashamed.  I had to add my own personal touch to this outfit because it had a more modern feel than what I am used to.  I am usually all thrift and look like a total chic grandma but today I kind of sort of looked like a modern teen?

How do you guys feel about Hi-low's?  I am still not sure if I am that crazy about them but it was a forever 21 skirt I found at goodwill and at the time I thought they were great.

Yeah I really am not for sure what I am doing here.....

I did add another more "lizzy" touch by wearing a vintage hand tooled leather belt I picked up at an estate sale.

I am also curious to know what you guys are wearing for Easter?  I still have not got the slightest clue honestly.

Another lizzy-fied piece in this outfit is the necklace.  It is vintage, also something I picked up at an estate sale.  I recommended trying some estate sales out you can buy boxes of stuff for just a couple bucks!

Thanks for reading everyone! There is an Easter DIY on its way soon so keep reading :)

Fancy Friday - Classy Casual Sucess

Fancy Friday
You guys I am back!! Today I have a fancy Friday post for you guys.  I gotta tell yall it took me so much discipline not to wear sweat pants today.  But for you guys I didn't and I do not regret it one bit.  This blog is forcing me to have a discipline life style and I really love it.  The feeling of setting goals and completing them is amazing I am sure you guys all know that.

Well enough of that lets get to the outfit!

Today's outfit consists of:
  • Navy collared button up
  • Navy and white striped 80's cardigan
  • Lace skirt (handmade by me)
  • Vera Wang nude heels (one of the best garage sale finds ever)

Thanks for reading guys!

Fancy Friday

Fancy Friday

Hey guys! I have a Fancy Friday post for you.  This one is going to be a bit different from last weeks because I actually did not have school today because of SPRING BREAK! So instead I went with my mom to go in search for a prom dress.

Since fancy clothes are not very practical for shopping I took some pictures of my outfit from Monday night.  On Monday I had a band concert (guilty of being a band geek)  For our band concert you have to dress nice so I took a few pictures of the outfit I wore to share with you guys.

I am also going to show you a picture of my new prom dress!

For band we have to wear white on top black on bottom

To meet these standards I wore a a cream colored body suit with a basic black pencil skirt.  I paired it with some vintage red heels and a thick black rose waist belt.

-Messy rooms adds character-

This picture shows the intricacy of the neckline on the body suit

More fancy..

Here is my prom dress! I thrifted it can you believe it!? Sadly I haven't found a tag with a brand on it yet but I paid 40$ for it.  Better than most girls 150-200 I would say.

Hope you enjoyed <3

Fancy Friday

Fancy Friday

Fancy Friday is something new I hope to do on my blog every Friday (obviously) but basically Fancy Friday is were every Friday me, and any other friends I can convince will dress up on Friday.  aka the reason its Fancy Friday and not casual Friday.

Dress up begins at age five ... and never really ends
-Kate Spade

My friend Brittany (girl on the left in the photo) will also be doing a Fancy Friday post.  If you would like to see her version of our Friday go to this link: http://alwaysclassysometimessassy.blogspot.com/

Here are the two victims of Fancy Friday.
On left we have my girl Brittany :) and on the right we have my right hand man Jmo!

As you can see we are quite fancy.

With this post you get a chance to see three different types of styles.  We are all very in touch with our own individual style and here is a chance to see an inside look of all three of them.

Let me take a second and go into depth about each of our own individual styles.

Brittany- Classy B**.  She is literally the queen of all layering possibilities.  Brittany's style is most definitely feminine but not girly. This is a common mistake when labeling her style.  She is just a feminine dresser.  She hates the color pink! I cant believe it with her blonde hair she could pull it off better than anyone.  Cardigans are her #1 love and always will be.  If I could pick my stylist for a business causal event it would no doubt be her.

Jmo- This guy is all about vintage.  He does more antique stores than he does thrift shop and gets most of his wardrobe passed down from his dad and his grandpa.  The 70's are his thing as you can see the hair helps his look.  He is the only person I know who could get away with wearing a suit every day of his life.  (which I might add he does) He combines casual with Fancy in the best way.

Lizzy- I have a hard time defining my style because I dress all over the place with no rhyme or reason I just LOVE trying new trends.  If I like it I buy it weather or not its my "style".  In this post however I have an old lady vibe going on mainly because the dress I am wearing is 45 years old!

The models outfits:

Brittany
  • Floral Skirt - Maurices
  • Black blazer - Maurices
  • Cream top - Dillards
  • Necklace - Buckle
  • Nude flats
Jmo
  • Leather vest - Vintage early 70's
  • Red button down - Vintage early 70's
  • Grey Trouser - Vintage 50's (his grandpas)
  • American flag converse - 1976 (thrifted by me!)

Now for my outfit!

This dress was handed down to me from my grandmother it was actually my great grandmother's dress.  It was her favorite dress she wore it a lot and did almost everything in it from gardening to cleaning she was in this dress.

I paired it with a pair of black tights a big black statement necklace and some basic black flats.

I think the next time I wear this outfit I will add a thin black belt just to kind of tie it all together better.
